I'm not sure if this is a good idea or not, but I would like to make a snapshot of a coffee shop. Part of me is worried that the space is too dominated by speech, but it doesn't have to be. If I were to 'place' the stagnant recording by a door, that way you get part of the outside as well, it could make for a dynamic snapshot. Traffic coming through on one end, the grumblings of a coffee roaster on the other.
I could be wrong though. As I come to think of it, I haven't had much experience being in coffee shops. I've noticed that the coffee shop on Alterra always seems to be noisy, and that's what sparked the idea. I cannot say I've ever tried to pinpoint the specific sounds though. I don't know. A place like that could work, but it also doesn't seem to inventive of an idea. Kinda the generic college kid thing to say.
As of now that's what I'm thinking, but it could change in time. Maybe a more rural area could be interesting.
